LARSON ANNOUNCES $10.8 MILLION FOR PRATT & WHITNEY

WASHINGTON, D.C.?U.S. Congressman John B. Larson (CT-01) today announced that the U.S. Air Force will award $10,812,560 for work that will be completed at Pratt & Whitney of East Hartford to perform configuration upgrades on the F-117 engine used for the C-17 aircraft.

"I am proud to be able to announce this $10.8 million award for Pratt & Whitney, which comes on the heels of a $72 million award only a few short weeks ago," said Larson. "Along with the Joint Strike Fighter, and F-22 Raptor, the C-17 is a top priority for the First District. These aircraft programs are critical to our national defense as well as the economic health of Connecticut, and I look forward to seeing them continue to move ahead."

According to the Air Force, the configuration upgrade will modify the low-pressure turbine exhaust case, and the combustor case to improve turbine capability.
