Larson on the 20th Anniversary of the Srebrenica Massacre
Washington – "Today marks the 20th Anniversary of Europe's worst massacre since World War II. My thoughts go out to the families of the more than 8,000 slain in eastern Bosnia, many of whom have found a new home in the Connecticut's 1st Congressional District. We still feel the tragic echoes of this devastating massacre even now, as additional victims continue to be identified.
"Today I join the Bosnian community in Hartford and abroad in remembering those who perished. They shall not be forgotten."
Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) is a member of the Congressional Caucus on Bosnia and one of the original cosponsors of a resolution marking the 20th anniversary of Srebrenica Genocide (H Res 301), which passed July 8th by unanimous consent in the U.S. House of Representatives.
