Congressman Larson Statement on the Jewish New Year

September 14, 2012

Washington – Today, Rep. John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement in honor of the Jewish New Year:

"This weekend millions of Jewish families will take part in prayer and celebration for Rosh Hashanah, and later this month during Yom Kippur, a day of repentance and reflection, families and communities across the world will join hands and rededicate themselves to providing a better tomorrow.

"The upcoming high holidays are a time of celebration and reflection for Jewish families across our nation, and in our current economic times, it is important that all of us join in this spirit of building a better future for those who are less fortunate, for our families, and for our children. I would like to take the time today to wish our entire Jewish community in Connecticut and across the United States a year of happiness and good health. L'shana Tovah Tikatavu."
