CT Congressman Files Articles For Third Trump Impeachment
U.S. Rep. John Larson this week filed articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump and called on the Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment.
In a news release, Larson said the president’s behavior “grows increasingly unhinged and dangerous.”
The resolution has been referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary, and White House officials have called the action “pathetic.” Larson filed it in response to the president’s social media posts related to the war in Iran.
The filing claims that Trump has “unconstitutionally initiated war as belligerent or co-belligerent against Iran, Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, Nigeria, and Gaza. He has threatened military force against Panama, Colombia, Cuba, and Greenland. In all of these endeavors, President Trump has acted without constitutionally required congressional authorization.”
Trump’s post on Truth Social on Tuesday morning said: “A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again.” By Tuesday evening, the president announced a temporary two-week seize-fire deal with Iran.
