Congressional Youth Cabinet
Each spring, The Congressional Youth Cabinet encourages high school students in the 1st Congressional District to have their voices heard. The CYC is an immersive experience that will broaden students’ knowledge of government and provide the opportunity for our youth to develop their leadership skills and a forum to advocate for issues important to them. That is why Congressman John B. Larson developed the first ever Congressional Youth Cabinet to give local youth access to their elected officials. This bipartisan program on government and civic leadership, for high school students in Connecticut's First Congressional District advocates for the interest’s area youth, providing a forum for matters affecting young people and offers students with an inside look at the inner workings of federalism. The program will run from March to May. Though most meetings will be virtual, we anticipate some in person activities as well.
