Larson Statement on Social Security 2100 Act CBO Score

September 13, 2019

Hartford, CT – Today, Ways and Means Social Security Subcommittee Chairman John B. Larson (CT-01) released the following statement on the Congressional Budget Office's score of the Social Security 2100 Act. Larson authored the legislation, which currently has 210 cosponsors.

"CBO's new analysis confirms that the Social Security 2100 Act enhances benefits across the board and improves the long-term financial health of the Social Security trust fund. Moreover, the report by the Office of the Chief Actuary of Social Security – which is the long-standing gold standard for determining solvency of the Social Security trust funds – has shown that the Social Security 2100 Act achieves sustainable solvency beyond 75 years. The Actuary Report also shows that the 2100 Act is the only bill which strengthens the Social Security trust funds this much. This is the best solution to protect and enhance Social Security," said Larson.
